Work-Life Balance is a Lie by Fern Weis, Parent + Family Recovery Coach

Work-Life Balance is a Lie by Fern Weis, Parent + Family Recovery Coach, Bergen County Moms

Admit it. You’ve thought it, too. There is no such thing as work-life balance. It’s a lie.

When we hear balance, we picture a 50-50 evenly balanced scale, and it’s not like that.

When there are personal things going on and concerns in my family, other things have to be temporarily moved to the side. We have to set priorities, right?

What we do have is work-life fusion, a blending of the different parts of our life. How do we blend them?

We take care of the absolute necessities, the urgent, and the things that are uppermost on our mind. The rest can wait. We may even eliminate some of those things that wait.

When you’re getting down on yourself because life seems very unbalanced, toss that thought. It’s not true and you shouldn’t make the comparison to something that’s unattainable.

Go for work-life fusion with a clear conscience.

We talk about this and more in my private FB community, Connected Moms and Teens.
