The rush to get out and travel is very much on everyone's mind these days, and if you don't have an updated passport at least six (6) months out, you're going to run into some issues trying to get it renewed if you have trips planned a few months out.

Currently, the State Department estimates turnaround times are 18 weeks for a standard passport application and 12 weeks for an expedited application. Pre-pandemic took six to eight weeks for regular applications and two to three weeks for expedited ones.
