Two SRDS Students Recognized for Academic Excellence by The Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, Bergen County Moms

"We inspire each child to achieve personal and academic excellence and to become a caring and ethical contributor to society".

Saddle River Day School congratulates two of their students Vivaan B ‘31 and Maanya D ‘29 who were both honored as some of the “brightest students in the world by The Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY).”

Both students were honored for “exceptional performance on the SAT, ACT, or similar assessments taken as part of the CTY Talent Search. CTY uses above-grade-level testing to identify advanced students from around the world and provide a clear picture of their true academic abilities.”

Vivaan and Maanya were two of nearly 19,000 students from 84 countries who joined CTY in the 2020-21 Talent Search year. Less than 20% of CTY Talent Search participants qualified for CTY High Honors Awards. Honorees also qualified for CTY’s online and summer programs, through which bright students can form a community of engaging learners with other bright students from around the world.

“We are thrilled to celebrate these students,” said Virginia Roach, CTY’s executive director. “In a year that was anything but ordinary, their love of learning shined through, and we are excited to help cultivate their growth as scholars and citizens throughout their early formal education, college and beyond.”

There are more than 15,500 enrollments in CTY Online Program courses each year. A global leader in gifted education since 1979, CTY is focused on recognizing academic talent in exceptional K-12 students and supporting their growth with courses, services, and resources specifically designed to meet their needs. CTY draws students from 50 states and 84 countries worldwide. CTY provides more than $4 million in financial aid to students.

Watch your child grow from a student into a scholar—and into a lifetime of success.

From exploring Spanish, music and lab-based science beginning in Pre-K to hosting a TEDxYouth Conference in high school … from active play to competing on a championship Rebel Athletics team … inspiring success starts right from the beginning at Saddle River Day School.

Here, learning begins with an intriguing problem to solve, a story that captivates or a question that provokes curiosity—and the personal connection between teachers and students motivates everyone. To develop holistic, “right-brain” thinkers, we integrate science, technology, engineering, art and math, and celebrate different ways to solve real problems.

SRDS graduates from recent years are thriving at top colleges like Boston College, NYU and Stanford. They are creative individuals inspired to think, solve and achieve—in academics and in life.
