This year, the boys and girls basketball programs will be hosting their Annual Healing Through Sports and Coaches vs Cancer Game together on January 17th at Ridgewood High School.  The schedule will be as follows:

🏀 Girls JV vs Newtown 11:30am

🏀 Girls Varsity vs Newtown 1:00pm

🏀 Boys Varsity vs Glen Ridge 2:30pm

Now in its 13th year, the event, founded by Jeremy O'Connell and Danny Brown, continues to unite communities through the power of sports while supporting those in need.

This year, the community is rallying behind Ryan Konzelmann. Ryan has always been a kind friend, a dedicated student, and a true role model within the Ridge School community, and it is no surprise that these qualities continue to shine through during this challenging journey.

He has expressed deep gratitude for the love and support he receives at home, at school, and throughout the wider community. In Ridgewood, we believe it truly takes a village, and Ryan’s story reflects that spirit. Just as he has always been the first to reach out to others, he is now surrounded by the care and encouragement of his friends and classmates, a reflection of the impact he has made on those around him.

Ryan and his family have received exceptional care and compassion from the team at Memorial Sloan Kettering, and in appreciation of the support that has meant so much to them, proceeds from the fundraisers will be donated to Memorial Sloan Kettering Kids in Ryan’s name.

The need for funding for childhood cancer research is critical, and this event offers a meaningful way to contribute.

Donations can be made in honor of Ryan Konzelmann to support cancer research and care at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
