How To Wear Boyfriend Jeans (When You're A Mom) by Kate Kaschenbach

When I was out at an event this past weekend chatting it up with my girlfriends, they were telling me a very helpful thing would be for me to take a trend and make it mom-friendly. So today we start with boyfriend jeans. And trust me, they will grow to be your best friend (if they aren’t already). Why are you going to love them? Sooooooo comfortable, and they look good on most figures. AND, boyfriend jeans look great paired with everything from a basic white T-shirt to a blazer, and they lend versatility in terms of shoe choice: you can wear them with everything from converse sneakers to sky-high stilettos.

So – when running around with your kids, pair them with sneakers, flats, or cute leopard loafers. Date night? Try pairing them with a blazer and pumps.

I’m wearing my boyfriend jeans (Joe’s Jeans) with a navy and white striped top, a lime green belt, scarf and booties. This would also look super cute with white converse sneakers (which are on my to-buy list for Spring). My bf jeans are distressed, which I know is not everyone’s cup of tea, so below are some options with and without rips :)

First, here are some inspiration photos:

1. Ladylike: pair them with a lace or sequin top and nude pumps

2. Weekend: pair them with flats, a sweater tucked in with a belt (with boyfriend jeans it’s a good idea to somehow define the waist)

3. To the office: Pair them with a chic blazer and pumps

4. Casual: pair them with a t-shirt and sneakers

Tip: a nice neat roll at the bottom does the trick, but you only want to either cuff them (like photo 1) or roll them once, max. If they’re too long and you feel like you’d need to roll them more than once, just cut them until you get the right length.

Here are boyfriend jeans in a variety of styles and price ranges:

6. J Crew
