☘️ Bergen County St. Patrick’s Day Parade
📍 Bergenfield, NJ
One of the largest Irish heritage celebrations in the county, the annual Bergen County St. Patrick’s Day Parade features marching bands, Irish dancers, bagpipers, community groups, and festive floats. Families gather along Washington Avenue to celebrate Irish culture and kick off St. Patrick’s Day festivities.

The parade begins at South Washington Avenue and West Englewood Avenue and marches north along Washington Avenue.
Seasonal Scavenger Hunt — Tenafly Nature Center
📍 313 Hudson Avenue — Tenafly, NJ
Families with children 4 and up will receive a printed set of clues to independently solve nature riddles along Nature Center trails. Each family will need to work as a team as they hike along the trails to complete the hunt.

Sap to Syrup — Tenafly Nature Center
📍 313 Hudson Avenue — Tenafly, NJ
Learn how maple sap becomes syrup and discover which trees are tapped — hands-on and educational for kids and adults alike. Sessions include outdoor exploration and identification of tree species, sap flow explanations, and tapping practice.

J. A. McFaul Environmental Center

An 81-acre environmental park featuring scenic walking trails, gardens, a duck pond, and wildlife habitats — perfect for a peaceful family nature outing. Kids can explore native plants and animals while enjoying fresh air and open space. A great spot for birdwatching, nature walks, and low-key outdoor learning.

The Celery Farm

Bergen County Zoo at Van Saun County Park
📍 Paramus, NJ
The Bergen County Zoo is open daily (10:00 am – 3:30 pm; last entry at 3:00 pm) and free to visit during winter, weather permitting. Guests can explore indoor and outdoor animal exhibits, and the Zoo’s Education & Discovery Center offers hands-on learning opportunities. Train and carousel rides are currently closed for the season.
